Consider the following scripture in Matthew 5: 48, 'Be ye perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.' If you're like me, this verse might arouse a bit of anxiety in you. After all, can you think of even one perfect human being? A more accurate application of the verse is to 'strive for perfection.' Most honest human beings would readily admit that only Yahweh is perfect.

Sometimes we need to sit still

When children are little, they have so much energy that parents need to always remind them to 'Sit still!' Well, sometimes Yahweh has to remind us, as adults, to do the same. All too often, believers are so willing to rush ahead of Yahweh without seeking what His will is in a certain matter. But often, even when they do seek Yahweh's will, they are not willing to wait for His answer. Many have taken it upon themselves to 'do Yahweh's job for Him.'
We need to remember ancient Israel when they were slaves in Egypt. It was many, many years before Yahweh sent Moses to bring them out of captivity. We, too, can feel that we are slaves to certain trials that come up in our lives. Yahweh does not slumber nor sleep and He knows exactly what He is doing in our lives if we trust Him. In Psalm 46:10, we find a simple yet incredible statement, 'Be still and know that He is Elohim.' Yes, there are spiritual battles to be fought and races to be run. But there comes a time when we simply must sit still and watch Yahweh work out the major headaches in life for us. It is indeed a great comfort to know that the Creator of the Universe has our best interests in mind. So then, children of Yahweh, sit still!
Having kept the Feast for many years, I have found that I always forget to bring something every year! The funny thing is that most of the brethren tell me the same thing! One gentleman forgot to bring dress shoes one year, and had to wear athletic shoes with his suits for services. Another forgot to bring a pillow and had to sleep with lumpy rolled up clothing under his head, as a nearby store was not readily accessible at that particular campground. So here are the most common items left behind when packing for the Feast. Please bring the following:
1. Bed pillows. And possibly a small chair cushion if you want.
2. Toothbrush, toothpaste, and floss.
3. Bedding (sheets and blankets) or sleeping bags.
4. Snacks (in case you arrive late at night, or on a Sabbath and cannot shop until sundown).
5. Medications.
6. Towels and wash cloths.
7. Bibles.
8. Head coverings (for the ladies). Keep in mind (for new believers) that a head covering can be a hat, scarf or shawl (your choice).

1. A sealed envelope—Put in the freezer for a few hours, then slide a knife under the flap. The envelope can then be resealed.
2. Use empty toilet paper roll to store appliance cords. It keeps them neat and you can write on the roll what appliance it belongs to.
3. For icy doorsteps in freezing temperatures: mixing a generous amount of Dawn dish soap in warm water and pouring over steps may prevent them from refreezing.
4. To remove old wax from a glass candle holder, put it in the freezer for a few hours. Then take the candle holder out and turn it upside down. The wax will fall out.
5. Crayon marks on walls? This worked wonderfully! A damp rag, dipped in baking soda. Comes off with little effort (elbow grease that is!)
6. Permanent marker on appliances/counter tops (like store receipt blue) rubbing alcohol on paper towel.
7. Whenever I purchase a box of S.O.S. scrubbing pads, I immediately take a pair of scissors and cut each pad into halves. After years of having to throw away rusted and unused and smelly pads, I finally decided this would be more economical. Now a box of S.O.S. scrubbing pads last me indefinitely! In fact, I have noticed that the scissors get 'sharpened' this way!
8. Blood stains on clothes? Not to worry! Just pour a little hydrogen peroxide on a cloth and proceed to wipe off every drop of blood—works every time!
9. Use vertical strokes when washing windows outside and horizontal for inside windows. This way you can tell which side has the streaks. Straight vinegar will get outside windows really clean. Don't wash windows on a sunny day. They will dry too quickly and will probably streak.
10. Spray a bit of perfume on the light bulb in any room to create a lovely scent in each room when the light is turned on.
11. Place fabric softener sheets in dresser drawers and your clothes will smell freshly washed for weeks to come. You can also do this with towels and linens and even your suitcases.
12. Candles will last a lot longer if placed in the freezer for at least 3 hours prior to burning.
13. To clean artificial flowers, pour some salt into a paper bag and add the flowers. Shake vigorously as the salt will absorb all the dust and dirt and leave your artificial flowers looking like new!
